2. DAC Code of Conduct

This section outlines the standards for representing the LTYB mission.

Purpose: The DAC program exists to amplify life-saving health information and bridge the gap in healthcare equity. As a Champion, you are an extension of our voice. We ask that you lead with heart, accuracy, and respect.

  1. Lead with Empathy & Respect Our mission is rooted in supporting survivors and those in treatment. We expect our Champions to maintain a tone of kindness and support. We have zero tolerance for harassment, bullying, or derogatory language toward any individual or community.

  2. Accuracy Matters To protect our community, Champions agree to share only official information from Listen To Your Body Inc. or verified, reputable health sources. Please avoid sharing medical "cures," unverified advice, or health misinformation while using the #LTYBDAChampion tag.

  3. Intentional Advocacy The #LTYBDAChampion hashtag and our digital badges are symbols of our mission. We ask that you do not use these assets to promote unrelated products, political agendas, or content that conflicts with our mission of health equity and breast cancer awareness.

  4. Respect for Privacy As an advocate, you may encounter stories from survivors in our community. Champions must respect the privacy of others. Never share someone else’s personal health story or data without their explicit, written permission.

  5. Brand Integrity The Spark and any additional badges unlocked are earned honors. They should not be altered, sold, or used to imply a formal partnership, employment, or endorsement by Listen To Your Body Inc. beyond the scope of digital advocacy.

  6. Right to Disassociate Listen To Your Body Inc. reserves the right to remove any individual from the DAC program and request the removal of our hashtag/badges from content that violates this Code of Conduct or harms the reputation of our mission.

Volunteer Code of Conduct

1. Our Shared Commitment

At Listen To Your Body (LTYB), our volunteers are the heartbeat of our mission. By joining us, you represent a movement dedicated to breast cancer awareness, health equity, and empowering individuals to trust their intuition in the exam room. We expect every volunteer to act as an ambassador of hope, dignity, and advocacy.

2. Core Principles of Service

  • Empathy & Active Listening: Our name is our mission. We listen to our bodies, and we listen to our community. Volunteers must approach every survivor, "warrior," and family member with deep empathy, a non-judgmental ear and with the utmost respect.

  • Inclusivity: LTYB serves a diverse community. We have zero tolerance for discrimination based on race, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. We are here for everyone.

  • Empowerment: Our goal is to help others find their power. Volunteers should encourage self-advocacy and provide resources that help our community members navigate their health journeys.

3. Professional Standards

  • Reliability: Whether you are assisting at a "Nail It Night," a Fitness Party, or the Glam & Glow Expo, we rely on your presence. If you cannot fulfill a commitment, please provide as much notice as possible.

  • Representation: When wearing LTYB apparel or representing the organization at events/online, please maintain a positive and professional demeanor.

  • Confidentiality: You may encounter sensitive health stories or personal information. Respecting the privacy of our survivors and participants is mandatory. Never share personal details without explicit consent.

4. Health & Safety

  • Trauma-Informed Conduct: If a participant becomes overwhelmed, remain calm. Escort them to a quiet area and notify a Lead Coordinator.

  • Boundaries: While we provide emotional support and resources, volunteers (unless clinically licensed and authorized) must not provide medical diagnoses or clinical advice. Always redirect participants to professional medical resources or LTYB-approved allies.

  • Self-Care: We believe the health of the mind determines the health of the body. We encourage our volunteers to "listen to their own bodies." If you feel overwhelmed or need a break, please communicate with a team lead.

5. Digital & Social Media Conduct

  • Amplification: We encourage you to share LTYB news and events! When doing so, ensure your posts reflect our values of "Empowerment, Impact, and Awareness."

  • Respectful Dialogue: In virtual meetups or on social media threads, maintain a supportive environment. Avoid medical misinformation or disparaging remarks about healthcare providers or other organizations.

6. Accountability

To protect our community and the integrity of our mission, LTYB reserves the right to dismiss any volunteer who:

  • Engages in harassment or discriminatory behavior.

  • Breaches the confidentiality of a community member.

  • Acts in a way that significantly misrepresents LTYB’s mission or values.
